There are various types of cement in India
·         Rapid hardening cement: used mainly for concrete work
·         Quick setting cement: used in works to be completed in very short period
·         Low heat cement: it is mainly used in construction on dams
·         Sulphates resisting cement: it is used in construction exposed to severe sulphate action.
·         White cement: it is quite expensive and used for architectural purposes
·         Coloured cement: basically used for decorative works on floors
·         Portland pozzolona cement: this cement is used for large construction works
But the most common cement that is used them most is Portland cement. It is the lowest cost material used in construction. Ordinary Portland cement is the most common type of Portland cement used. It is used for wide range of applications.
